In Business since 2014 Coober Pedy Car & Mechanical Service is located in the main street (Hutchison Street) and is opposite the Drive In Cinema with its screen proving a useful landmark. (Operations commenced in approximately 2004 as Tyre Centre Coober Pedy. The business was purchased in 2013 by the Hall family and a mechanical workshop was also established). On becoming a Repco Authorised Service Centre the trading name was changed to Coober Pedy Car & Mechanical Service Service.

If a customer's needs are such that there are parts delays we can provide comment on local accommodation, attractions, and also assist in short term transport needs. At times a response to our customers may require journeys of hundreds of kilometres, so our service vehicles carry adequate fresh water, first aid, fuel and sat-phone communications.

Coober Pedy Car & Mechanical Service is managed by Patrick Hall. Although relatively young, Patrick has extensive experience in the automotive industry, apart from routine mechanical servicing and repairs, this experience ranges from vehicle recovery on the Anne Beadell track to fabrication of suspension components for caravans.

Patrick's hobby is anything automotive, from preparing and servicing rally cars for himself and others, to knowing appropriate driving techniques for the varied regional tracks, his long experience has given him excellent diagnostic skills and a commitment to "first time" solutions. He also has a favourite Datsun 240k awaiting restoration.

Coober Pedy Car & Mechanical Service (initially established as Tyre Centre Coober Pedy) is now in its tenth year of providing vehicle servicing and repair in Coober Pedy under the management of Patrick, whose automotive experience extends back fourteen years to when he undertook the preparation and repair of rally vehicles for events in all Australian states.
